Restorative Yoga seeks to create equilibrium in the mind and body. Through stillness and time, in a fully supported, comfortable position, we stimulate our parasympathetic nervous system, and in turn reduce stress in the mind and body, allowing for deep relaxation.
The goal is not stimulation, stretching or strengthening, but to soften and soothe. It's only in this 'rest and digest' state that we can induce healing.
